Remembering Ethiopian Airlines Flight 409: A Tragic Loss Over the Mediterranean
The world stood still on January 25, 2010, when the world lost 90 lives in a tragic airplane crash onboard Ethiopian Airlines Flight 409. The international commercial flight was to depart Beirut to Addis Ababa. But just seconds after takeoff at Rafic Hariri International Airport, the plane plunged into the Mediterranean Sea. The company's first fatal accident took place following the hijacking of Flight 961 in 1996, on this fatal crash.
